An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
